Bone daddy

I love the Fruit and Veg shop near Greenstone! They never disappoint when it comes to a photo op! Be it a pigs head or a racks of ribs just lying about, they will provide! This time round it was these large, gory bones, greasily lying about on the large metal table. Robs arm shows you the size of these puppies! Could you use something so big as a soup bone? Or would you give it to a dog? I imagine the joy on our sausage dog’s face if we came home with a heifer like that! In case you’re wondering, they cost around R6 – R8 each! So cheap you feel you should just buy one anyway! (We didn’t, Rob never lets me get all the cool, gruesome stuff…)

Peg-atelli

I came one morning to find these pegs fragrantly boiling on the stove. Now I doubt that Ester, the maid, has had a sudden dietary revolution (though who knows, people were daft enough to follow Atkins), so I had to ask! Apparently if you boil them it makes the pegs tougher and less likely to fall apart when you use them! Tell me you don’t get the urge to add a sprig of rosemary all the same!

The hamster way

Proffessor H loves his corn and doesn’t let things like taking ten seconds to walk around the fence of his wheel, stop him from enjoying it! He strains his nose through those bars, nipping at the corn like a starved rodent! Eventually he will click that it’s not working and go out and sit on the cob, but it always takes a little while for this to compute!

Spider, man!

We went to Suikerbos rand, me with my cell at the ready to take photos. I mentioned to my esteemed college that I’d love to have a pic of a giant web with a big fat spider in the middle because that’s worth snapping a shot of, and low and behold, the place delivered! Look how huge it is! I’ve never even seen a spider like this till then! And the only reason I could put my hand right up close like that was because of the immensely comforting sheet of glass between us! Oooh the heebie-geebies!!
